It’s NOWVEMBER already! Gosh, time flies by so fast that I’m getting a year older in a few days. No plans yet. Maybe a special birthday post and a surprise for you all could be the highlight of the day.
Speaking of birthday, a bit random, do you know what your birthstone is? Mine is Topaz or Citrine that are both orangey gold in color. I remember one time, I badly wanted a pair of birthstone earrings so I went to this jewellery shop and they handed me Topaz. I was like “it’s not pink?!” (well obviously, Internet wasn’t a main thing yet so research happens when you read books or go to the mall physically and accept whatever it is that’s in store for you). I just couldn’t deal with the fact that I’m six days late in getting the pink birthstone which is Pink Tourmaline for October.
I think I pulled Denver The Guilty Dog’s face to the saleslady when she showed me the reality of life.
Luckily enough, I got over this stage and learned to love it and do something about it.
This Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in Sequoia is like sent from above (but really sent by my aunt) with a godly background voice saying “stop hating on Topaz, here…(then a black box drops from the sky almost straight to my face but I caught it)”.
Opening it is like a treasure box seen on TV with a beam of light straight to my face. All colors are frosted with pretty tiny glimmers that are red violet or magenta, warm taupe, peach, and light pink.
To be honest, for an everyday use, a $61-eyeshadow quad (approximately Php2743) is something I would buy last. But, Chanel sure does know how to make eyeshadows. Its formulation is so perfect I’d cry. You can use it dry or wet and color payoff would still be fantastic and application is so smooth and blendable.
The shade Seqouia is discontinued but you may check their website and stores to check other beautiful shades available.
I took swatches of the colors and I noticed one thing: when I wiped it off with a facial tissue, it easily came off. It may or may not be a good thing. It could mean that it’s easy to remove or it doesn’t last long on skin.
The above swatches were applied dry and below were applied wet:
Pigmentation: Very Good
Quality: Very Good
Price: Depending on your budget. For me, pricey
Now, I trust that pink and peach and their darker tones can make a very beautiful look and I promise to love Topaz even more. Especially with this awesome quad.
What a keeper!
If you’re not loving your own birthstone, high five! I kid. HAHA! I love Topaz now. 🙂
Life’s teaching us to deal with whatever that’s against our wants to appreciate other things and be open-minded people. Or at least that’s what Les 4 Ombres in Seqouia has given us today. That one thing may not seem as “the best” for you, but it will definitely work with something else that completes or makes a beautiful masterpiece. So don’t hate and stop hating on anything in general. Stop hating on Topaz (I’m telling myself once again).
Spread love everyone! xx
